Name: Jared Country: United States State: Oklahoma Metro: Broken Arrow Birthday: 7/27/1984 Gender: Male
Interests: I can never be accused of political incorrectness in my interests due to their wide diversity; however, my main interest is making time for the most important things. I love nearly anything to do with music; good coffee; books on Christian apologetics and practice, history, politics, etc; good conversation; traveling; power naps; online stores; sweet tea (not sweetened tea--there's a difference); college football (Boomer Sooner); Golden Eagles Basketball; along with other stuff that slips the mind off hand. Expertise: Did someone say road trip? If there's gas in the car and the destination is in the continental United States, I can get you there in a day. Although I'm not an expert, I do claim working knowledge of Lewis and Tolkien, especially the Lord of the Rings. Music theory is not something in which I claim expertise, but I know it pretty well. Well enough to know there's a lot more to learn. Occupation: Student Industry: Other

| Today the US Supreme Court upheld the 2003 ban on all partial birth abortions in a 5-4 decision. Here's what Presidential Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton (D-NY) had to say about this decision on her website. Washington, DC -- "This decision marks a dramatic departure from four decades of Supreme Court rulings that upheld a woman's right to choose and recognized the importance of women's health. Today's decision blatantly defies the Court's recent decision in 2000 striking down a state partial-birth abortion law because of its failure to provide an exception for the health of the mother. As the Supreme Court recognized in Roe v. Wade in 1973, this issue is complex and highly personal; the rights and lives of women must be taken into account. It is precisely this erosion of our constitutional rights that I warned against when I opposed the nominations of Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito." Mrs. Clinton was joined in voicing displeasure of the decision by fellow Democratic Presidential candidates Barrack Obama (D-IL) and John Edwards. Here's a link to a website that gives a detailed description of the procedure banned. It is a manual-like description written by Dr. Martin Haskell and published by the National Abortion Federation. Go to page 30 of the document listed at the bottom of the page. Come back and comment if you can still stomach casting a vote for a candidate who supports such a procedure based on the "rights...of women." | | |
| Will asked why I asked the two questions on my last post. Here's why: Honest questions. I have opinions (as always), but I'm curious how others feel. I feel that if the answers to these questions really are yes and no, respectively, and that that status quo is maintained, then the individual issues themselves are inconsequential. What republic can provide security to its citizens and guarantee liberty if it fails to tackle issues with logic in place of rhetoric and optimism in place of fear, regardless of what the issue is? Rome was not built in a day. It also did not fall in a day. | | |
| HAS OUR SOCIETY COMPLETELY ABANDONED REASON AND LOGIC IN OUR DEBATES ON MAJOR ISSUES? DO YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL BELIEVE THAT OUR GREATEST CHALLENGES THAT FACE US AS A NATION, I.E. IRAQ, IMMIGRATION POLICY, SOCIAL SECURITY, ARE ISSUES THAT CAN BE SOLVED GIVEN OUR CURRENT POLITICAL LANDSCAPE? | | |
